Never again will we be this joined together.

Selfishness may tear us apart,

Arguments may divide us,

Continents may stretch between us,

One day.

But today, you dig your fingers and toes into the very folds of my body.

Organs shift, yielding to you obediently.

Bones turn and twist so you can stay supported and cradled.

My brain shrinks so yours can grow.

But both our hearts grow together, beat by beat.

You and I are one entity, intertwined and entangled

In a mess of sinews and organs, bones and blood vessels.

And as one we move through this hard world,

Comforting each other with the knowledge that we’re not alone.

Better yet, we have found the one whom our soul loves.

And for 9 short months, we get to live and love and flourish as one.
